{"id":253,"date":"2020-09-07T18:28:41","date_gmt":"2020-09-07T18:28:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.toddingtonbaptist.com\/?p=253"},"modified":"2020-09-07T18:34:44","modified_gmt":"2020-09-07T18:34:44","slug":"murphys-law-or-gods-law","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.toddingtonbaptist.com\/?p=253","title":{"rendered":"Murphy\u2019s Law or God\u2019s law?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u2018Don\u2019t ever stop thinking about what is truly worthwhile.\u2019<\/em><br>(Philippians 4:8)<br>It\u2019s reported that in 1949 Captain Edward Murphy, an engineer working on a project for the United States Air Force, became angry because of a wrongly wired transducer. Scolding the technician responsible, Murphy said, \u2018If there\u2019s any way to do it wrong, he\u2019ll find it!\u2019 Over time such thinking became known as Murphy\u2019s Law. Basically it states, \u2018Nothing is as easy as it looks. Everything takes longer than you expect, and if anything can go wrong, it will \u2013 at the worst possible moment.\u2019 How negative! Who would enjoy life if they lived it according to that philosophy? Because they always expected the worst \u2013 they\u2019d get it! God\u2019s law disagrees completely with Murphy\u2019s Law. The world may expect Murphy\u2019s Law to operate in their lives, but as a redeemed child of God, you need to resist that kind of thinking and embrace God\u2019s law. In essence, here\u2019s what it says: \u2018If anything can go right, it will. Nothing is as difficult as it looks. Everything is more rewarding than it appears, and if anything good can happen to anybody, it\u2019ll happen to me.\u2019 Think how much more you could you enjoy life if your thoughts agreed with God\u2019s law, and not Murphy\u2019s. The fact is, God has a great life for you \u2013 one He wants you to enjoy to the fullest. So instead of blowing everything out of proportion and contradicting God\u2019s Word, stand on this promise: \u2018We know\u2026all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose\u2019 (Romans 8:28 NKJV).
